They may feel like they don’t have the time or that it’s not something they’re concerned about. Get your friends and family in on it too: a gift set, a gift certificate, and share tips and tricks to get started on prioritizing their skin. It’s never too late to start a skincare routine. Find one that works best for you, that makes your skin feel healthy and fresh with an energizing glow.

3 Reasons Why A Facial Does Wonders for your Skin

We’ve all treated ourselves to a DIY spa treatment with face masks, moisturizers, mists, serums, and everything in between. It’s always great to have ways to treat yourself that won’t break the bank or take up too much of your time.

These at-home treatments can do the trick on an average day, but there are also a lot of benefits that come from getting facial treatments done professionally every once in a while

Here are just a few reasons getting a facial can do wonders for you and your skin:

Expert Skin Analysis & Advice – An esthetician can see your skin as is, and therefore will be able to provide more clear treatments and advice for what your skin specifically needs to stay healthy and how to treat any skin problems (redness, dryness, acne, etc.) in your at-home skincare routine (what products to use, how often, where your skin needs it most).
Customization & Benefits – Everyone’s skin is unique and therefore it’s important to know what will work best for you. Based on your skin, and the type of facial treatment you’re receiving, there can be different outcomes compared to other people. Your esthetician will have a good idea about what your skin needs. The benefits include skin hydration, better circulation, exfoliation; all of which cater to the needs of your skin.
Clogged Pores & Blackhead Be Gone – An esthetician will be able to proper techniques and methods to clear out any impurities, clogged pores, and blackheads in order to not harm your skin.

BONUS: Personal TLC – There’s no reason you shouldn’t treat yourself every so often. Facials can help to relieve stress and clear your mind, provide you with some well-deserved pampering, and give your skin a fresh glow and clean slate!

Acne

What You Should Know About Acne!

You are not alone. Acne can affect 80% of people at some point in their lives. Yes !! this is not just a teen condition. Adult acne is also common and it can persist into people’s ’40s and ’50s.

But what causes it and how can you treat it.

Let’s start from the beginning. Our bodies are the cold print!!!

Hormones called androgens. It occurs in puberty! Androgens cause sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum in hair follicles. Inflammation of skin glands and of tiny, narrow canals in the skin known as hair follicles, acne is marked by pimples and other lesions, usually the result of clogged pores.  So basically, hair follicles harbour bacteria and removing it can be a solution to improvement!! But that’s not the only cause of acne. The other cause is hormonal changes and genetics also play a role in acne formation.

Ok so now that we know what causes it, how do we treat it.

No matter the treatment, product, and medication, acne is a process. Typically, the acne gets worse before it gets better. It’s the harsh truth, but we want to be honest with you.

When you come in for a skin analysis consult, we categorize your acne in 4 lesions: Papules, Pustules (pimples) Nodules and, Cysts.

Depending on the lesion of your acne, we customize a treatment program based on your individual needs.

We love Blue light to treat acne !!! No pain involved !!!

Let’s get technical on how it works. Blue light absorption produces free radicals in the sebaceous gland, which destroys the bacteria on the acne lesions; secondly, yellow light is used to coagulate the feeding blood vessels, improving their healing; and, finally, infrared light is applied to dry the lesions.

Depending on the acne, a series of 6-10 treatments is recommended in intervals of 1-2 weeks apart.

This treatment process usually results in a 60-65% reduction in acne and acne marks.

Ok so remember I said there is no pain involved !! This is because our technology uses a built-in cooling handpiece. Calming the skin and allowing us to combine the blue light with other treatments like microdermabrasion, hydra facials, peels and DermaPlaning!!!!
Which means the results can always be optimized !!!

Helping improve your skin is our passion. Let us be apart of your journey. Let’s work together to make sure you love the skin you’re in!!
